The Infected: Simply put, I'm a man struggling with the onset of S.A.T.s, or more commonly known as Smart Ass Tourettes syndrome. This is a disorder characterized by the presence of chronic vocal remarks of an annoying nature, probably based on differences in or damage to the basal ganglia of the brain. Comments may be minor and trifling or be major and debilitating. The frequency of the quips, minor and major, typically tends to increase with age. It is expressed in remarks made spontaneously without prior preparation and commonly fall within the nature of wisecracks, jibes, barbs, puns, pranks, gags and blue humor, often at the expense of others. There is no medication nor medical procedure short of a lobotomy that will stem the progressive nature of this syndrome. What I'm hoping to do here is stem the tide of unwanted speech by writing what I may normally say out loud without thinking. Then it is up to the reader to determine their interest in these outbursts.
